The CTBTO Events App provides easy access to relevant information about the different CTBTO events. It contains the list of participants, programme, information on conference layout, and other useful information related to CTBTO events. It also includes announcements, links to social media and other functions as well as a built-in messaging service which allows participants to communicate with each other.
The CTBT bans all nuclear explosions everywhere, by everyone, and for all times. A verification regime to monitor the globe for nuclear explosions is nearing completion with around 92 percent of the 337 planned International Monitoring System facilities already in operation, ensuring that no nuclear explosion goes undetected. The data registered by the IMS can also be used for disaster mitigation such as earthquake monitoring, tsunami warning, and the tracking of the levels and dispersal of radioactivity from nuclear accidents.
The multidisciplinary meetings and trainings of the CTBTO attract scientists and experts from the broad range of the verification technologies of the CTBT, from national agencies involved in the work of the CTBTO to independent academic and research institutions, as well as policy makers. Members of the diplomatic community, international media and civil society also take an active interest.
